Ngare Ndare Day Trip
Ngare Ndare Forest Hiking Day Trip is a full day excursion from Nairobi to Ngare Ndare Forest, a lush indigenous forest at the foothills of Mt Kenya Forest.
We start our journey in Nairobi at 6.00 AM in the morning and drive towards Timau. A brief stop at Nanyuki town to shop for snacks before proceeding to Ngare Ndare Forest.
On arrival take a walk through the forest in the company of an armed guide, Ngare Ndare Forest is a vital migration corridor for elephants migrating from Lewa Conservancy to Mt Kenya Forest and one they have been using for centuries.
The forest is the only indigenous forest in Kenya with an expanding canopy made up of indigenous trees like the African olive and Red Cedar trees believed to be more than 200 years old.
We shall hike to the blue natural pools where one can swim in the blue pools. Diving is also allowed. We shall enjoying the swimming as we have a photo session at the breathtaking sceneries of the waterfalls.Later on we shall return to take the canopy walk which is a 40 feet high aerial bridge of wire mesh and cables meandering through the tree canopy and extending 450 meters long .
After the canopy walk we shall have a Late Lunch after which we shall prepare to get back to Nairobi.
